Finnian's is a cheese shop and deli in the village of Bishopsbourne, just off the A2 near Canterbury. We also have a market stall on Folkestone Harbour Arm.
We love cheese, and seek to share the greatest must have cheeses and other produce with our customers. We constantly discover fantastic new products, producers and their stories from the UK and beyond helping us to frequently rotate our range.
This continual quest means you will always be inspired by something new. We relish the opportunity to propose an exciting alternative for your palate and cheese board week to week!

Whilst cheese is our thing, we also showcase a tight & carefully selected choice of wines and beers and deli essentials to complement the season and each other. Every visit to Finnian's starts with a warm welcome and we encourage further conversation about all our produce.
We source our products direct from cheesemakers, farmers & producers, and specialist importers and wholesalers. Finn has developed these relationships over many years and enjoys the challenge of sourcing particular products on behalf of customers.
We love to talk about things that we love ourselves and are keen to hear your favourite combinations and cheese experiences!
About us
Finnian's love & experience for fantastic food and drink goes back many years. From around the table at home, to starting his career with the Savoy, Claridges and the Berkeley hotels then extending his experience in the London wine industry. This led to a long period living and working in the continent, from Brussels to the French Alps and south west of France to Spain and Portugal.
Finn was on the senior management team at renowned food hall, Macknade for over 11 years but opening his own business was always a dream to make happen.
Along the way he has picked up many influences and has been inspired by the stories and adventures in cheese, wine and other great produce.
Always an advocate for travelling the world through food, and sharing the dialogue that it creates.

Experience
Finn is well respected in the cheese & deli industry. A Produced in Kent board member, a member of the Guild of Fine Food and Academy of Cheese, a regular judge for Great Taste Awards and World Cheese Awards are some of his current positions.
Finn has attained level 2 membership of the Academy of Cheese awards and is currently studying for level 3 Fellowship.
He also has qualified at the advanced level of WSET.
Next up!
Next on Finn’s list is to add cheesemaking to his portfolio and having been awarded a Chiswick cheese market grant for new cheesemakers, hopes to combine this adventure to Finnian’s in the coming months.

Situated in Bishopsbourne, at Court Lodge Farm on Frog Lane with Tadpoles tea room and vineyard, Gilda bakery & Fern and Farrow as neighbours, we are perfectly situated for a stop off on the A2 between Dover and Canterbury and equally as a destination for a foodie experience across a variety of small independent businesses with tasty treats!
Finnian's is also a resident stall on Folkestone Harbour Arm with its thriving community and wealth of activity, particularly this year (2025) with its Creative Folkestone triennial festival from July to October.
